The NU-CHIPS opposite Multi-talker Noise recording has all four lists of the NU-CHIPS recorded to the left channel. Multi-talker Noise is recorded to the right channel as competition. This recording is offered for those who want to administer this test with noise; however, no interpretative data is available for the test in noise.

This versatile recording can be administered for masking, speech in noise, or words in quiet. With a dual-channel audiometer, the administrator can set their own signal-to-noise ratio by mixing the left and right channels. They can access the left channel only to administer the word lists in quiet.
