Attention Deficits: Is it ADD/ADHD or APD?

Children with attention deficits can be hard to diagnose. Is it attention deficit disorder (ADD)/ Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorder (ADHD) or is it an Auditory Processing Disorder (APD)? The Auditory Continuous Performance Test© (ACPT) was developed to screen for auditory attention deficits. It can aid in the diagnosis of ADD or ADHD in children 6 through 11. The child listens to a list of words and raises a thumb every time he or she hears the target word. Total test time is approximately 15 minutes. Watch the video! (See below.)

The ACPT includes a) audio recording, b) manual and score forms¹ as printable pdf files.
