The Auditory Continuous Performance Test© (ACPT) was developed to screen for auditory attention deficits. It can aid in the diagnosis of ADD or ADHD in children 6 through 11. The child listens to a list of words and raises a thumb every time he or she hears the target word. Total test time is approximately 15 minutes. Watch the video! (See below.)

The ACPT includes a) audio recording, b) manual and score forms¹ as printable pdf files. The PBK-50 opposite Children’s Classroom Noise© recording has all three lists of the PBK recorded to the left channel with Children’s Classroom Noise recorded to the right channel. It has been made available for those who want to administer this test with a distracting noise as competition.

The primary signal (word list) is recorded on the left track, and the competition is on the right. This versatile recording can be administered for masking, speech in noise, or words in quiet. With a dual-channel audiometer, the administrator can set their own signal-to-noise ratio by mixing the left and right channels. They can access the left channel only to administer the word lists in quiet. Administration time is 10-15 minutes.

The PBK-50 opposite Children’s Classroom Noise© includes: a) audio recording, and b) word list. This product does not include instructions or normative data. It is assumed that purchasers of Auditec’s auditory tests are well trained in the use, purpose, and interpretation of basic tests.
