The QuickSIN© is a speech in noise recording. It consists of sentences recorded in four-talker noise. There are twelve sets of sentences with six sentences in each set. Each set includes one sentence at each of the following signal-to-noise ratios: 25, 20, 15, 10, 5, and 0 dB. Every sentence has five key words that are scored as correct or incorrect. The lists are equivalent and provide a quick and accurate assessment of hearing aid performance. Each listening condition takes approximately two minutes to administer. The QuickSIN© is modification of the SIN and, as the title suggests, is a shorter version of the SIN. It is appropriate for most adults. See BKB-SIN for a similar test for children.
The QuickSIN© includes a) auditory test recording, and b) manual and score forms. The extensive manual contains information on administration, scoring, and interpretation. Normative data for adults is included.
