Spanish Pediatric Speech Recognition Threshold Test© (SPSRT) FEMALE TALKER

The Spanish Pediatric Speech Recognition Threshold Test© (SPSRT) FEMALE TALKER is a picture-pointing speech recognition threshold test appropriate for children four and up. (Scroll down to watch video demonstration.) The SPSRT picture card consists of twelve color pictures on one 8½ x 11 inch glossy card. The recording is spoken by a female talker from Mexico. Words have been recorded in a random order on one track and on single tracks for additional randomizations by the administrator. It is presented in two ways: a) Spanish words on the left channel with the English translation on the right channel, and b) Spanish words on both channels as well. Administration time is 5-10 minutes. The SPSRT developers in the Speech Perception Assessment Laboratory at the University of Memphis strongly recommend purchasing its companion test: Spanish Pediatric Picture Identification Test (SPPIT).

The Spanish Speech Recognition Threshold Test© (SPSRT) FEMALE TALKER includes a) audio recording, b) picture cards (one with labeled words and one without labeled words), c) instructions, d) summary, and e) picture board key.
