Spanish Pediatric Speech Recognition Threshold Test (SPSRT)

The Spanish Pediatric Speech Recognition Threshold Test (SPSRT) is a picture-pointing speech recognition threshold test appropriate for children four and up. (Scroll down to watch video demonstration.) The SPSRT picture card consists of twelve color pictures on one 8½ x 11 inch glossy card. The recording is spoken by a female talker from Mexico. Words have been recorded in a random order on one track and on single tracks for additional randomizations by the administrator. It is presented in two ways: a) Spanish words on the left channel with the English translation on the right channel, and b) Spanish words on both channels as well. The SPSRT developers in the Speech Perception Assessment Laboratory at the University of Memphis strongly recommend purchasing its companion test: Spanish Pediatric Picture Identification Test (SPPIT).

The Spanish Speech Recognition Threshold Test (SPSRT) includes a) audio recording, b) picture cards (one with labeled words and one without labeled words), c) instructions, d) summary, and e) picture board key.
