This product consists of a recording of ASHA Spondees with a recording of Child Spondees.

ASHA Spondees© is a speech threshold (speech reception threshold-SRT) recording. It is two sets of 18 spondaic words formulated by an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) committee of audiologists. The two lists are considered to be of equivalent difficulty. The SRT is 20 dB SPL. This list is considered an adult word list. The administration time for the ASHA Spondees seven minutes.

Child Spondees is considered a speech threshold (or speech reception threshold-SRT) test. It is a list of spondaic words that was selected to be familiar to children. Auditec recorded 51 words in one randomization. The medium SRT is 20 dB SPL. The administration time for Child Spondees is five minutes.

PBK-50 Form A Short Interval© tests word recognition ability of lower grade school age children. The articulation function is approximately 4%/dB. There are three lists of 50 words (150 words total) available in four different randomizations.

This short-interval version of the test gives the patient 2.5 seconds to respond instead of the standard four seconds. It is an effective way speed up administration time, but this version is not recommended for young children or the elderly. Administration time is 7-11 minutes.

The W-22 Ordered by Difficulty Short Interval© is a word recognition or speech discrimination test. It consists of four lists of 25 words each selected by D. Rose so that they are ordered from most likely to be missed to the least likely. If the first 10 items (or 9 of the 10) are heard correctly, the test is halted, since it is assumed that an individual with word recognition difficulty will be most likely to miss the most difficult items. Persons who miss more than one of the first ten items are given the entire 25-word list.

This short-interval version of the test gives the patient 2.5 seconds to respond instead of the standard four seconds. It is yet another way to effectively speed up administration time, but this version is not recommended for young children or the elderly. The administration time will vary from 2-15 minutes depending on how well the patient performs.
