Spanish Filtered Speech© is an auditory processing disorder test. It requires recognition of monosyllables that have been low pass filtered, a low redundancy category.

The Spanish Filtered Speech test is part of the Santiago APD Battery. Auditec recommends purchasing the complete battery which includes a) Spanish-In-Noise, b) Spanish Binaural Fusion, c) Spanish Filtered Speech, and d) Spanish Dichotic Digits. However, Auditec has made single test in the battery available for purchase for those with budget restraints. The battery includes instructions in English and Spanish.

Spanish Filtered Speech© includes a) audio disc, and b) manual and score form as printable pdf files. The extensive manual is provided in both Spanish and English. It includes administration, scoring, and interpretation information. Normative data is included for adults only. It can be assumed children over the age of 12 will do as well (or nearly as well) as adults.

⇒What is the difference between Forms 1, 2, 3, and 4 and which one should I choose?  The French PB Words have been recorded in four randomizations called “forms” to prevent memorization. For instance, French PB Words Form 1 includes all four lists of 50 words for a total of 200 words. French Form 2 includes the same 200 words in a different sequence. The same is true of French Forms 3 and 4. The French PB Words Form 1 (the standard word list) is usually sufficient unless you plan to retest the same patient using the same French word list.
