The NU-6 Time Compressed Words, 30% & 60%© is an auditory processing disorder test in the category of monaural low redundancy. That is, the speech stimuli have been accelerated, but without a shift in pitch. For this product, the all four lists of NU-6 Form A words have been compressed at 30% and 60%. Administration time is 16-33 minutes.

The normative data provided with the NU-6 Time Compressed was based on the W-22 Time Compressed. It is for ages 11 and up. It is assumed that purchasers of Auditec’s products are well trained in their use, purpose, and interpretation.

The PAL Lists 1-4 (Jerger)© get their name from Psycho-Acoustic Labratory (PAL). James Jerger is the talker. This recording represents one of the earliest attempts to develop a test of communication ability. Each word list contains 50 words.

Boothroyd Isophonemic Words©

Boothroyd Isophonemic Words© are considered a word recognition (speech discrimination) test. Auditec recorded the series of isophonemic words published by Boothroyd. It consists of 15 lists of ten words each (150 words total). This could be considered an adult word list since the vocabulary may be unfamiliar to young children. The talker has a General American dialect. Administration time is 3-15 minutes.
