Competing Sentences

The Competing Sentences is popular with both psychologists and audiologists. It is an auditory processing disorder test and is considered a dichotic sentence test for binaural separation sensitive to neuromaturation and language processing. It uses verbal stimuli and is appropriate for ages 5 and older. It consists of 30 pairs of sentences with similar subject matter within each sentence pair. These sentences were recorded so that each pair begins and ends simultaneously. Administration time is approximately 7 minutes.

Competing Sentences includes: a) audio recording, and b) instructions and sentence list. The two-page instructions encompass format, procedure, and interpretation. Normative data for ages 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. At age 10, normal scores are 100% in both ears so it can be assumed that normal patients over age 10 would achieve similar results. Available from Auditec, Inc.   Call 1-800-669-9065 (from US) or 314-416-1050 (outside the US) to order.
