The Spanish Speech In Noise© is an auditory processing disorder test. It requires recognition of monosyllables in the presence of white noise (at +10 dB and 0 dB signal-to-noise ratios). According to ASHA (1996), it fits the low redundancy monaural speech category.

The Spanish Speech In Noise© test is part of the Santiago APD Battery. Auditec recommends purchasing the complete battery which includes a) Spanish-In-Noise, b) Spanish Binaural Fusion, c) Spanish Filtered Speech, and d) Spanish Dichotic Digits. However, Auditec has made single test in the battery available for purchase for those with budget restraints. The battery includes instructions in English and Spanish.

Spanish Speech In Noise© includes a) audio disc, and b) manual and score form as printable pdf files. The extensive manual is provided in Spanish and English. It includes administration, scoring, and interpretation information. Normative data is included for adults only. It can be assumed children over the age of 12 will do as well (or nearly as well) as adults.
